    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 8, 2017 Contact: Jacque Clark, 202-225-5311 Port Deposit Receives $6.6 Million in Federal Funding for New Water Treatment Plant WASHINGTON, DC: On November 8, the United States Department of Agriculture announced its approval of $4.2 million in loans and $2.4 million in grants for the replacement and relocation of Port Deposit’s existing wastewater treatment plant. Additional funding will be provided by the Maryland Department of the Environment. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement in support of the project: “I applaud USDA’s attention to this important project. Too often, the needs of small towns and rural communities are neglected by the federal bureaucracy. Small communities like Port Deposit make up the backbone of our nation, and many of these communities need outside support to maintain and advance their infrastructure. Rural development is critical to keeping our country healthy, happy, and economically competitive.”

  • County, State Officials Optimistic About Bainbridge Development

  • BDC Welcomes New Board Members

    Pictured above: Voting member Chris Moyer being sworn in by Clerk Charlene Notorcola. Last evening during the open session meeting of the Board of Directors, the BDC welcomed two new members, Chris Moyer, Cecil County Director of Economic Development and Dr. Alan McCarthy, Cecil County Executive. My. Moyer will sit as a voting member, while Dr. McCarthy sits as an Ex-Officio. Mr. Moyer was also nominated to serve as Vice Chair, a position previously held by Lisa Webb.

  • Governor Awards Citations at Annual Meeting

    Staff Members from the Governor's Office participated at the BDC Annual Meeting to present Citations, on behalf of the State of Maryland, to County Executive Tari Moore, Chair Mike Pugh, Development Partner Ken Michael and the Board of Directors, for their dedication and unwavering support of the Bainbridge Project. Presenting the Citations were Deputy Chief of Staff Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Kristal Hartsfield and Senior Advisor to the Governor Michael Leahy. The Board of Directors also approved the 2016 BDC Annual Report and held the annual election of officers. Officers for the 2016-2017 term at Michael Pugh (Chair, Lisa Webb (Vice Chair) and Chick Hamm (Treasurer).

  • BDC Board of Directors Annual Meeting to be held November 1st

    The Bainbridge Development Corporation invites the community to participate in our Annual Board of Directors Meeting, held at 5:30 PM on Tuesday November 1st at the Donaldson Brown Center in Port Deposit, Maryland. This is a pivotal point in time for the BDC and development team, MTPM, as they welcome a $1M federal grant from the Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment, for soil characterization of a proposed residential component and a revised site-wide reuse plan. Agenda items for the evening will include the BDC Annual Report, Election of Board Officers, and selection of the firm(s) to fulfill the tasks of the federal award. Refreshments will be served. We are pleased to have confirmed participation on behalf of the Governor’s office, and sincerely hope that you are able to attend. AGENDA
